We’re Rooval Deck & Beam Builders — a DBA of Rooval LLC, based in Lehi, Utah — and this is our website, https://roovaldeckbuilders.com. We build custom decks, exposed wood beams, and pergolas. This page is the plain-English version of what information this site collects and what we do with it. It’s short, because we don’t collect much.
What we collect when you ask for an estimate
The estimate form on our pages asks for four things: your name, your phone number, your city, and what you’re thinking about building. That’s the whole list — the form doesn’t even ask for your email address.
What we do with it
One thing: we get back to you about your project. When you hit send, the site emails your request to our inbox, a real person reads it, and we call or text to talk through what you’re planning. We don’t sell your information, and we don’t sign you up for anything.
Google Analytics
Like most websites, we use Google Analytics to get a rough picture of how people use the site — which pages get read, how folks found us, and whether someone starts the estimate form or taps our phone number. To do that, Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and collects things like your device and browser type, general location, and the pages you visit. It doesn’t tell us who you are — we never see names or phone numbers in it.
Don’t want to be counted? That’s fine. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings, or install Google’s own opt-out tool at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Comments on our blog
If you leave a comment on one of our posts, the comment form collects your name, your email address, your website if you choose to share one, and the comment itself. Your email address is never published. There’s an optional checkbox to save your name, email, and website in your browser’s cookies so you don’t have to retype them next time — that only happens if you tick the box.
Comment avatars come from Gravatar, a service run by Automattic. When your comment shows up, Gravatar receives a scrambled (hashed) version of your email address to check whether you have a profile picture there.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your information — not to anyone, not ever. A few companies help keep this site running and handle some data along the way:
- Google — for the analytics above, and also for email: we use Gmail, so when you send an estimate request it arrives in a Google-hosted inbox.
- Hostinger — the company that hosts this website. Like any web host, it automatically keeps basic server logs — things like IP addresses and which pages were requested — to run and secure the site.
- Gravatar (run by Automattic) — those comment avatars.
Beyond that, your information stays with us.
How long we keep things
We hang on to estimate requests for as long as we might need them to follow up with you or keep our own records straight. Blog comments stay with their post unless you ask us to take yours down. If you’d rather we didn’t keep something, just say the word — see below.
