Our Warranty
Every project we build comes with a 5-Year Workmanship Warranty — in writing, before we start. Rooval Deck & Beam Builders is a DBA of Rooval LLC, licensed and insured Utah builders and part of the same family of companies as Rooval Roofing.
What does the 5-Year Workmanship Warranty cover?
It covers defects in our labor and installation for five years from completion. That means the things that fail when a deck is built wrong, not when materials age:
- Ledger attachment — how the deck fastens to your house, the most common failure point in deck collapses
- Footings — set below Utah County’s ~30-inch frost depth so posts don’t heave
- Framing connections — joist hangers, post-to-beam hardware, and fasteners installed per the 2021 IRC
- Railing security — posts that stay rigid, not wobbly, under load
- Beam mounting — structural and decorative interior beams anchored the way they should be
If any of those fail because of our workmanship within five years, we fix it at no charge.

What about the materials themselves?
Manufacturer warranties pass straight through to you. Major capped composite decking brands (the Trex/TimberTech class of products we install) carry 25- to 50-year fade and stain warranties — a real advantage on the Wasatch Front, where high-altitude UV at 4,500-5,500 feet is hard on decking. We register the product for you and hand over the paperwork with your final documents. See our deck cost guide for how composite and wood compare over time.
What is not covered?
- Normal weathering of natural wood — cedar and redwood gray, check, and need periodic sealing; that’s the material, not the build
- Homeowner modifications — anything altered, added, or attached after we finish
- Acts of nature — damage from events beyond normal conditions the deck was engineered for (we already build to 40+ psf ground snow loads)
How do I make a warranty claim?
No forms, no runaround. Call (801) 671-4062 or email roovaldeckbuilders@gmail.com. We come out, look at it, and if it’s our workmanship, we fix it — no charge. If it’s a material issue, we help you file the manufacturer claim.
Why put it in writing?
Because a verbal promise is worth exactly what it’s printed on. Your signed contract includes the warranty terms before any work begins, whether we’re building in Lehi, Orem, or Draper. It covers every service we offer — custom decks, interior wood beams, and pergolas.
Frequently asked questions
Is the warranty transferable if I sell my home?
Ask us before closing — we’ll confirm what transfers on your specific project and provide documentation for the buyer. Manufacturer decking warranties typically have their own transfer terms.
Does the warranty cover permits and inspections?
We pull required permits (usually needed for attached decks or anything over 30 inches above grade) and build to pass inspection. That’s part of the workmanship we stand behind.
Do interior beams get the same warranty?
Yes. Structural beams (engineer-designed and permitted) and decorative box beams are both covered for installation defects for five years.
What if my composite boards fade?
Fade and stain on capped composite boards fall under the manufacturer’s 25-50 year warranty. We’ll help you file the claim.
